Custom Logo Design

Your logo is the single mark people use to recognize your brand, so it has to be original, flexible, and legally yours. We design a custom logo and a complete suite of variations from your brand and audience, not from a template library or an AI generator, so it holds up at every size and on every surface.

What it is

What is custom logo design?

Custom logo design is the creation of an original primary mark for your brand, drawn from scratch rather than assembled from a template or stock icon library. The deliverable is not one image but a logo system: a primary logo, secondary and stacked versions, a standalone symbol or monogram, defined clear space and minimum sizes, and the full set of file formats your team and vendors need.

A logo matters because it is the most repeated and most recognizable piece of a brand, and a weak or generic one quietly undercuts everything around it. That said, a logo on its own is not a brand identity. If you also need color, typography, voice, and usage rules working as one connected system, that is the wider brand identity work, and a logo without that supporting system will only take you so far.

How we work

How we design your logo

1Discovery and brief

We learn your positioning, audience, and competitors, then agree what the mark must do and avoid.

2Research and sketching

We map the visual territory in your category and explore directions on paper before going digital.

3Concept directions

We present a small set of distinct, considered logo directions, each with a clear rationale.

4Refinement

We take your chosen direction and refine form, weight, spacing, and balance to production quality.

5Variants and testing

We build the full suite and test it small, in one color, and on light and dark backgrounds.

6Handoff and files

We deliver organized vector and raster files plus basic usage notes for consistent application.

Why it matters

What a strong logo gives you

A logo built on strategy becomes a long-term asset you own and reuse, not a placeholder you replace as soon as you grow.

A mark people remember

A distinctive logo is easier to recognize and recall than a generic or templated one.

Consistent everywhere

A full suite keeps the brand looking right from a favicon to a billboard.

Yours to own

An original, custom mark is something you can use and protect, unlike a shared template or AI output.

Who this is best for

The right fit

Best fit when

You are launching or leveling up and want an original mark you can own, scale, and build a brand around, and you value distinctiveness over the speed of a free generator.

You might not need this

A logo is not a brand on its own, and designing one before you know your positioning usually means redoing it. If you have not defined who you are for and how you differ, start with Brand Strategy first.

FAQs

Common questions about custom logo design

Why pay for custom logo design when AI generators are free?

An AI generator gives you a fast, low-cost image, but it is usually built from shared patterns, so it can resemble other brands, and in many jurisdictions AI-generated work does not qualify for copyright, which makes it hard to protect. Custom design gives you an original mark drawn for your strategy, a full usable suite, and a clear ownership position. If budget is the only constraint and the stakes are low, a generator may be enough, and we will say so.

How is a logo different from a brand identity?

A logo is a single mark. A brand identity is the connected system around it: color, typography, imagery, voice, and the rules for using them. The logo is usually the first piece, but on its own it will not make a brand look consistent across a website, an app, and print. If you need the whole system, that is the wider brand identity engagement.

What files and formats do I get?

You get the full logo suite as scalable vector files (SVG and EPS) and as raster files (PNG and PDF), in full-color, single-color, and reversed versions. Files are organized for web, print, and vendors, with defined clear space and minimum sizes. That set covers almost every place you will need to use the mark.

How long does custom logo design take?

A focused logo project commonly runs a few weeks from brief to final files, depending on rounds of feedback and how many stakeholders are involved. [verify] We agree the timeline and revision rounds up front so there are no surprises. A full brand identity system takes longer, since there is more to design and document.

Do you check whether my logo can be trademarked?

We design for distinctiveness, which is what makes a mark protectable, and we deliver clean files suitable for a trademark filing. Whether we run a preliminary trademark screening as part of the project is something to confirm with us, and screening is not the same as legal clearance. [verify] For formal clearance and registration you would work with a trademark attorney.

Can you redesign our existing logo instead of starting over?

Yes. If your current mark has equity worth keeping, we can refine it: cleaning up the form, fixing spacing and proportions, and rebuilding it as a proper scalable suite. If the brand itself is changing direction, refreshing or rebuilding the whole identity may be the better route, and we will tell you which fits.
