A dieline is the flat cutting template a printer uses to make your pack, and print-ready artwork is the file set, with correct color, bleeds, and layers, that a printer or converter can run without rework. This is the production craft that sits after creative design: it turns a design into a structurally accurate, press-ready file that holds up at the factory. We build the dielines and the print files, though we are a prepress and design studio, not a printer, so we do not run presses or guarantee a specific printer's acceptance.

What is dieline and print-ready artwork?
Dieline and print-ready artwork is the production stage of packaging, where a design becomes a file a printer can actually manufacture. A dieline is the flat template that defines the cut, fold, and glue lines of the pack, and print-ready artwork is the full file set with correct color, bleeds, safe zones, separated layers, and a press-ready PDF/X export.
This is different from creative design: the look is already decided, and the job is to make the file structurally accurate and production-safe so it does not bounce back from the printer. It matters when you have a design but no proper dieline, when a printer has rejected your files, or when many SKUs need consistent, version-controlled artwork. We prepare the files to your printer's specification, but we are not the printer, so we do not run the press or guarantee how a given printer handles the job.

Common questions about print-ready artwork
What is a dieline?
A dieline is the flat template that shows the cut, fold, crease, and glue lines of a piece of packaging, laid out so a printer can produce the pack accurately. The design is placed onto the dieline so every element lands in the right panel and nothing falls on a fold or a trim. A correct dieline is the difference between a pack that assembles cleanly and one that does not.
What makes a file print-ready?
A print-ready file has the correct color setup, bleeds and safe zones, separated print layers, embedded or outlined fonts, and a press-ready PDF/X export to the printer's specification. It is built so the printer can run it without sending it back for fixes. We preflight every file against those requirements before handoff.
My printer rejected my artwork. Can you fix it?
Usually yes. Common reasons are a missing or incorrect dieline, RGB color that should be CMYK or Pantone, no bleed, or unseparated layers, and these are fixable in prepress. We take your existing files, correct them to your printer's specification, and preflight them so they pass. We do not need to redo your design to fix the production file.
Do you print the packaging too?
No. We are a prepress and design studio, not a printer or converter, so we prepare the files and you or your printer runs the press. We build to your printer's specification and check a proof, but the press run and its quality are handled by the printer. If you do not have a printer yet, we can prepare the files to a general standard most printers accept.
Can you handle artwork for a lot of SKUs?
Yes. We set up a system and version control so a large range of SKUs stays consistent and the correct file always goes to the right printer. This is where version tracking matters, because a single wrong file on press is expensive. We keep the dielines and components organized so updates are quick.
How is this different from packaging design?
Packaging design decides how the pack looks, while dieline and print-ready artwork makes that design manufacturable: the structurally correct template and the production-safe file. Design comes first, then production artwork prepares it for the printer. We do both, but this service is specifically the production stage for a design that already exists.
