Pilates Manual Design Case Study
A structured wellness manual guiding safe Pilates education through pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
The Challenge
Pre and postnatal Pilates education contains detailed safety information, anatomical guidance, exercise modifications, contraindications, and teaching instructions. If presented without hierarchy, the material can feel dense and difficult for instructors to use during training. The manual also needs to feel supportive rather than clinical because the subject relates to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and body confidence. The challenge was to organize extensive educational content into a calm, readable, and professional learning format.
The Solution
The design uses strong black sans-serif headings, grey title sections, bullet points, and structured modules to separate each learning topic clearly. Pregnancy and Pilates photographs support the written content, showing expectant mothers in calm movement settings, studio spaces, and wellness environments. Thin divider lines, page numbers, and repeated layout elements create consistency across the long manual. The monochrome cover and soft grey interiors keep the overall tone focused, educational, and wellness-led.
